Role Overview:
Senior Software Engineer (Backend/API Focus)
OpenMethods seeks a passionate software engineer fluent in API and backend design and implementation to join our team. You’ll work on developing, launching, and managing critical web services that drive our platform.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust web services.
- Develop databases and SQL scripts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create effective design and implementation strategies.
Day-to-Day:
- Prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
- Write code with unit tests to ensure high quality.
- Participate in requirement meetings to deliver optimal solutions.
- Conduct peer code reviews.
- Document code for maintainability.
- Other tasks as directed by management.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend architecture.
- Expertise in messaging/queuing platforms like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Strong design skills, with experience on the front end and at the API level.
- Proficiency in C# and SQL; experience with Golang or JavaScript is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and address issues proactively.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and implement best practices.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with DBx.DB2, SQLServer, or MySQL.
- Familiarity with gRPC.
